A collection of images taken on the Holga. These images have been taken using the same technique as multiple exposure, when the film is not wound on, as the Holga is so simple it will let you expose the same frame as many times as you want, easy to forget! To achieve the panoramic image is a difficult process. Time has to me taken to wind on the film to just the right place so the frames overlap, too much and there will be a gap between them, too little and the frames will double up too much.
The images have all been taken using a Holga camera , one of the simplest pieces of equipment you could use to take a photograph. For those interested it is the 'Holga 120 FN' plastic camera with a plastic lens, it has a built in basic flash, but we think that has stopped working. Stuart likes the fact that if more light is needed, then just hold the shutter open a little longer and see what happens. Simple. The images are all being recorded on Fuji Neopan 400 Professional Black and White film. Stuart has always been a fan of this film from way back when he began photographing bands, almost all of his early black and white photographs were recorded on this film. The negatives are then scanned on an Imacon Flextight scanner and processed in Adobe Photoshop CS2. The final images are then printed on a HP Z3100 Designjet on Harman
gloss FB AL Warmtone photo paper.
